Our mission is to assist in positive life experiences for our children and their parent(s) by providing avenues, resources and programs to meet their "Social, Physical, Environmental and Educational needs".
Through our partnership with Children, Youth & Family Network (CYFN), who's mission is to create alternatives to traditional service provision for children and young people with complex social, physical and emotional needs, we can meet our children's needs, thus, improving their daily life, education, and golf experiences.

The San Diego Junior Golf Foundation (SDJGF) opened its doors in June 1997, with the sole intention of introducing the wonderful game of golf to all children between the ages of 5 to 17, especially in the inner city. Using the latest teaching methods and electronic technology, SDJGF has a highly qualified staff consisting of four professional golfers, four volunteers and over 133 years of golf and tournament experience. The staff provides structured golf lessons with a teacher - student ratio of 1:5. Golf lessons are conducted each Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at various locations throughout the city and county. Golf equipment and golf balls are provided at no cost. Our students receive continuous classroom training in the following areas:
- Golf etiquette and rules
- Swing and Putting analysis
- Public Speaking
- Personal and Social Interaction
WE DO MORE THAN JUST JUST PLAY GOLF
Meeting our student's Social, Physical, Environmental and Educational needs is paramount to SDICJGF. Our students have the opportunity to enhance their educational skills and development through our partnership with the Vital Links program.
In 2004, the San Diego Junior Golf Foundation has implemented two new programs:
-
Mothers and Daugthers; SDJGF is introducing more woment to the game of golf. Each Thursday, Free golf lessons are provided to all whom are interested.
-
After school golf; Golf lessons are provide twice a week for inner city children particpating in the National City School District After School Program.
The Vital Link Enrichment and Vital Link Tutorial programs are an innovative effort to strengthen the literacy and social skills of children that attend either program. During each fiscal quarter, we provide our students with cultural and social enrichment through field trips to many of San Diego's attractions. SDJGF's parent-child activities also assist us in supporting the parent-child relationship.
We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and our primary mission is to give children a chance of a lifetime. Located at 5276 Churchward St. San Diego, California, everyone is welcome, and thank you for your support.
